This exceptionally rare Yirgacheffe gets it's name 'Orange' from the colour of the cherries when picked. Producing orange cherry is very difficult, often requiring the plants to be segregated from the others on the plot, and then processed as a separate batch at the washing station. As the coffee cherry ripens it loses some of its natural organic acids - malic and citric - by picking the cherry early, these acids are found in higher levels, creating a bright and highly complex cup. If you are a fan of naturally processed Ethiopian coffee and enjoy something a little different and very rare - this coffee is for you!
