We would be remiss if we did not say this is one of the best Kenyan coffees we have tasted this season! The Othaya Farmers Co-coperative Society is one of the top producers in Kenya. Othaya manages 19 wet mills in Nyeri county, which represents 550 farmers, of which 120 are women. The Thuti wet mill sits 2 kilometres from the Karima Hills, in the heart of Nyeri County, with the River Thuti flowing through. The Thuti mill is renowned for their AB grade coffee (of which this is) as well as a very high scoring peaberry grade. The mill receives SL 28 and SL 34 lots from over five hundred farmers in the surrounding highlands.

This coffee truly sings as a pourover, big and juicy as a Kenyan should be, tropical fruit dominates the cup, mango, tangerine & sweet lemon, chocolate caramel rounds out the cup, intensifying as the cup cools.

To get the most of this cup we recommend a slightly courser grind, 94 degree water and a 16:1 water to coffee ratio. For espresso, try a slightly quicker extraction, 25-28 seconds.
