This is our third offering from Papua New Guinea, and a stellar example of how far this origin has come in recent years!
Simbu is PNG's third largest coffee producing province. Centrally located in the heart of the highlands of Papua, Simbu produces high quality coffee and contributes 10% of the country's annual arabica coffee production.
Coffee was first introduced to Simbu in the early 1950's, it has been the most important crop to the local Simbuans. Each small holder farmer owns aprx. 1 - 2 hectares of coffee 'garden' which they grow small amounts of coffee which they monitor carefully to create top grade coffee. PSC stands for Premium Smallholder Coffee, and this lot was graded as a A, or top lot.
This seasons lot is clean, sweet, fruity, floral with a rich and lingering aftertaste - we are getting notes of black tea, brown spice (nutmeg, cinnamon) orange, lemon, prune, nectarine & chocolate.
