Over 5,000 small holder farms (most less than .5 of a hectare) located in Eastern Uganda on the slopes of Mt Elgon contribute to the Sipi Falls Coffee Project. The local Bugisu people believe that a god lives on Mt. Elgon and that when he is happy, he delivers rain to the bountiful gardens on the lush, fertile hillsides - creating a climate ideal for the growth and production of specialty coffee. Uganda has come a long way in their coffee production, typically known for growing Robusta bean, The Sipi Falls Coffee Project has concentrated on farmer education, advance agricultural techniques, social and environmental responsibility and building first class washing stations. Our Kapchorwa Sipi Falls coffee is all that is good with African coffees - complex and rewarding, we get notes of toffee, citrus, chocolate and bergomot - it is certified Organic and Rainforest Alliance.
